Yoga For kids! A sometimes, might work solution to chill out your offspring.

The past year has been quite strange and full of new normals and lots of adjusting. Not just for us parents, but for our kids too. The constant up and downs pertaining to school has probably brought out a lot of big feelings in your school aged kids. One week it’s virtual, the next it’s in person. Wait! We’re seeing a spike! Back to virtual. You get it. You’ve been living it too. And it’s probably brought out a lot of big feelings for you too. Haha!

Having four kids and all boys, who I swear feed off each other’s testosterone, it can get a little hairy up in here sometimes. Several years ago a mom friend told me about Cosmic Yoga for Kids on YouTube. It is the BEST. So many videos. So easy to follow. I love to do them too. It usually helps my kids recenter enough that all that unharnessed energy can go into something a little less destructive or loud. Haha!

Obviously, this doesn’t always work. Sometimes they are too far gone they can’t even focus long enough on the yoga to chill. At that point I’m retreating to my nest of blankets and pillows, aka, my bed and it’s every man, woman and child for themselves! May the odds be ever in your favor.
